IKEA's new idea is to start building complete TV furnitures with everything built-in. It's called "Uppleva" and might be what most people will be buying in the future together with their IKEA furniture. The consumer will be able to choose from different colors and styles on their TV furniture, but also on the TV frame. All the electronics are comming from TCL fully assembled, all you have to do is to choose the TV frame and the style and color of your TV furniture. IKEA's hope with Uppleva is that it makes it easier for the consumer to furnish their living room and to remove all the ugly cables from the view.

Sound good to me for a customer who do not wish for anything in A/V hardware to be very advance. Ultimately I think the price is a factor for this product to fly off the shelf.

Yes, the price is probably what will make people buy this, as well as it's easy to just go into an IKEA store and buy the whole lot instead of going to different stores for everything.

The price and the package deal is IKEA's concept, but you have to assemble it yourself as usual though.

I am sceptical to this investment, IKEA are trying to sell everything in package deals, the only problem about that is when the tv will be outdated. They tested their Tv's in a magazine but it didn't score that good, so my guess is that people will have to renew them pretty often.
  6. Very sleek, and attractive to me - I like that there are no wires, no messy stuff. However, I'm sure the price tag is out of this world. :(

This is an interesting idea. I have always liked Ikea for their fun accessories and paper lamps, but since watching my college desk and bed fall apart over the course of the two years I had them, I am skeptical. What it all comes down to is the price point, something that is usually on their side with hard furniture but not with soft furniture, like their sofas that are nice but rather pricey for Ikea.

They have improved on quality and their products are getting better and better. The negative thing about them is that they use really crappy materials, it's all fake, so to speak. In Sweden they have really talented designers making their products and those are going into their stores all over the world.

As for quality, I guess people can't complain much in the price they are paying. As for Ikea Singapore, the stuff we receive here is not that nice any more compare 10 years ago design works.

Yes, they probably produce everthing from china very cheap, The kitchens we are getting in Europe are pretty good quality, IKEA guatantee 20 years or so.
