So there is this toilet paper wedding dress contest started by Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com that runs as an annual contest! And mind you, the entries are not just rolls of toilet paper wrapped around a figure, they have frills and layers and ribbons here and there. Here are two of the winning dresses:

It's amazing that they can make such good-looking dresses out of toilet paper. Making them and putting them on the model must be absolutely nerve-wracking though; I'd be so afraid of tearing.

I am always both fascinated and repelled by fashion stunts like this. Well, maybe "stunts" is too strong a word, since much of high fashion is about pushing the envelope. But there is so much that is wrong about a toilet paper dress. They are an accomplishment, there is no doubt about it. But to very little purpose, in my mind.

I'd be interested to see someone wearing one of these at their wedding if the heavens opened and it poured with rain. It would end up as a mushy mess!!!

What a great idea to use something other than the norm! I agree with samm777 - what would happen if it rained? The dress would be completely ruined and the bride would be standing there naked! It would be a very embarrassing experience!
