Dream Home

My dream home is an old southern home like the one in Gone With the Wind, only about half that size, since it would still be plenty of room. A pool in the back yard would be wonderful, too. What's your dream home?

My dream home would be a big house on the countryside! I would love to have a small lake near it with nice and clean water, so you could swim in it in the summer. Hahaha I would love that!

We are living in our dream home. We purchased it 18 years ago. A 1911 farm house with a small barn, with the city delevoped all around us. We get the styles we love, and close to the shops we also love. I guess you can have your cake and eat it too.

My dream home would be modernised inside 100-years old cottage in a lovely seaside village in Ireland – complete with vast country garden, where the birds sing in the morning.

I dream to live in a posh village. The interior of my home would be inspired by minimalist architecture. I want it to have the "less is more" look. I want it clean and not fussy. More importantly, my dream home would house a library, a music room, and a mini-movie theater. :cute:

My dream room would be a Mediterranean villa, with lots of windows, a balcony, and Spanish tiles. I also would love to have an observatory on the top floor with a 360 degree view through transparent walls and ceiling.

Reading each reply made me think 'oooh I want a home like that too'! It's too difficult to choose only one so I would go for a villa close to a beach, complete with hammock and pool. My second home would be an old cottage in a small village somewhere.

I would love to have a solid cedar log home. I live in a cedar post and beam home, but had I been able to afford it, I would have built it from solid cedar logs.

I would love to live in a house or flat with a view over the sea or an ocean With big windows and a lot of space, but not too much, I don't like huge, empty spaces. I like looking at the water, it's peaceful and calms me down.

My dream home would be done up with a lot of colour, lights and communicate my personal style.

My dream home is mixture of contemporary and traditional. The exterior should be contemporary but the interior should be traditional. The furniture should be of traditional bamboo sticks.
