Narrowest house in Britain!

This article astounded me. This house is only 60 inches wide and is the narrowest in Britain. Could you live here? I don't think I could! narrowest house.jpg

Holy cow, no way! I couldn't do it. I have really big items that wouldn't fit inside that thing. I wonder how the stairs look going up stairs to get a mattress and dressers up there. Actually I don't think my bed would even fit in that thing. 60 inches is only 5ft! I guess if that's all you can afford you make it work, but that would just be to claustrophobic for my liking.

It might be the narrowest house in britain, but in my opinion it can't be comfy at all to live in such a cramped space. Think about all the problems when having guests over, you wouldn't be able to fit two people besides each other, so that is a huge problem! :dont-know: I am a bit skeptical perhaps, but I also believe it is kind of cool when architects try to push the limits!

Yeah, I agree. If people don't push the envelope, we won't have any new usable innovations. But there is no way a house like this is livable in a real way. I'm guessing you are willing to live there for the publicity purposes.

Reading the article, it says it's too narrow for stairs so has a ladder! How silly! It says there's one in the USA that sold in May for over $4 million which is amazing. If you have that much money why wouldn't you buy a more comfortable house?

It may be an architectural wonder or whatever you may call it, but I don't think I would be able to live in such a very 'slim' property. For me, what makes a home a 'home' is the level of comfort that you can find when you're there, and I don't see such comfort in this very narrow house.

This kind of 'house' will not survive in the US. We are simply not able to enjoy tiny space. I agree to Vogue, there is no way that I can feel comfortable in this narrow house.

Pretty neat concept, but I think I would feel pretty claustrophobic living in one of those. Talk about having to shop around for the perfect furniture...

I think harry potter and all his friends lived in one just like that one, hah!
